SAMCA Nationals 2016 – Opening Ceremony
At the SAMCA Nationals 2016 opening ceremony 1,000,000 Footprints Youth Leader, Monique Theron, facing dignitaries and spectators delivered an appeal to the jam-packed stadium to stand together in a united stand as the youth of South Africa against the poaching of our wildlife heritage especially our rhinos.
Goosebumps were felt by all as 500 drum majorettes, old and young, marched in their 1,000,000 Footprints to save Africa t-shirts with passion not only for their sport but for their country and their heritage and a mass shout out “Save our rhinos! Enough is Enough!”” was heard across the world as media recorded this cry from the youth and their family who filled the stadium.
Footprint banners filled the stadium as the Majorettes and Cheerleaders took a stand in this symbolic march against the heinous slaughter of our rhinos.
